June Classes

Students must register and pay in advance. All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before class time for a refund.  All classes include up to $10 worth of supplies, unless otherwise stated. This supply allowance is for class materials only.              

ART CLAY RING – 2 evenings, Mon, July 5th, & Tues., July 6th, 6 pm. Using the incredible silver art clay, create a fine silver decorative band. Taught by Trude Spillane. All skill levels.  $60 (all supplies included)          

KNOTTING GEMS & PEARLS – Wed., July 7^th, 6pm. Learn the fine art of knotting between beads for a beautiful, professional necklace. Intermediate $25

METALSMITHING - BASICS OF SOLDERING & BEYOND BASICS OF SOLDERING – Sat., July 10^th, 12-5 pm. This is the same class that is usually taught on 2 evenings.  Students will learn the basic chemistry and set-up for soldering   and how to set up a minimal soldering operation for under $100. Peter Senesac will explain solders, fluxes, pickling acids and fire scale as well as annealing and work hardening, the use of various torches, types of joins, appliqué’, sheet and wire. Peter will also give demos and students will solder jump rings. Students will have tech samples & handouts for future reference and there will be hands-on practice. This is a great preliminary class if you want to take other metalsmithing classes or if you are thinking about setting up your own studio.  $60 

FORGED BRACELET - Mon., July 12^th, 6pm. Learn how to work with a strip of metal and create a cuff bracelet using hammering, filing, burnishing and other techniques. Must have adequate hand strength. Taught by Kathy Swift. $35                                                                                 

FREEFORM WIRE-WRAPPED PENDANT – Tues., July 13^th, 6 pm. Create a beautiful pendant with a very flowing, professional style. All skill levels. $25

BASIC NECKLACE – Wed., July 14^th, 6 pm. A wonderful class to learn about design, cords, clasps and putting it all together. Everyone will make a necklace. Beginner. $20

WOVEN WIRE BRACELET - NEW CLASS!!!      Sat. July 17^th, 10:30 am. Learn to weave sterling silver wire into a beautiful wire wrapped bracelet. The possibilities are endless.  This is an exciting   new class for us, taught by Ronda Stevens from Jacksonville. Beg.- Int. $35

SIMPLE WIRE WRAPPED RING ---  Mon. July 19^th 6pm. A simple ring design using copper, gold, silver or brass wire and a decorative bead. Quick, easy and cute. Taught by Holly Merton Beg. -Int. $20

SURVIVOR NECKLACE- Tues., July 20^h, 6pm. Learn how to work with cord and large-holed beads and make a fun, dangly necklace! Beg.-Int. $25.00

BASIC EARRING –  Wed. July 21^st, 6 pm. Learn the basics of earring making using headpins, wire and beads. Create several pairs of lovely earrings. Beg.-Int.  $20

INTERMEDIATE ART CLAY PENDANT – Sat. July 24^th, 10:30 am. Further explore the versatility of this exciting medium! Using glass, cz, prong settings and sculptural techniques, create a fabulous pendant. For those who have taken a beginner’s art clay or PMC class only.  Taught by Trude Spillane.   $60 (some supplies included)

EMBELLISHED WIRE CUFF– Tues., July 27^th, 6 pm. Create a beautiful one of a kind  cuff bracelet with various gauges of wire and assorted beads. Taught by, Trude Spillane Beg.-Int. $30                                                 

MULTI-CHAIN EARRINGS –  Wed., July 28^th, 6 pm. Take the basic earring a step further. Make long, elegant earrings or shorter cute ones using beads and chain! Beg.-Int. $25
